Vera Playa - Local Area

Shopping and Local Entertainment

Recently opened next to Torremar Natura is the Centro Hispania shopping mall. The ground floor is occupied by a large Tesco style supermarket, where familiar brands can be found and the product location signs above the aisles are in English as well as Spanish. On the top floor, a buffet style Chinese restuarant has opened. Opposite the main gate at Torremar Natura can be found a selection of bars and restuarants, with a wide selection of dishes. If you wish to explore further, then a fair walk to Hotel Street will give you a selection of bars and eateries and a couple of nightclubs, one of the clubs is due to re-open as a cabaret and show bar. On the beach there is a nice beach cafe/bar known locally as 'Tiggers' which is an ideal place to drink and eat during the day and is 100% Naturist as is the 'Sol y Lune' which has some evening entertainment and Boules tournaments. Please note that only the beach venues are Naturist.

Vera

The nearby town of Vera is a prosperous town with a great variety of shops, many selling locally made handicrafts, and on Saturdays there is an amazing street market that seems to take over the town. An equally strong attraction is the local cuisine, found both in classy restaurants and tapas bars.

Garrucha

Garrucha is primarily a thriving fishing town and port. It also has a smart beachfront; a marble paseo bordered by fish restaurants, and a clean beach making it very popular with tourists. Extremely so on market days (fridays) and during fiestas (often) . Garrucha has some very good fish restaurants, some on the beach itself. The town is well serviced, clean and bustling all year round.

Mojacar Pueblo

Situated in the foothills of the Sierra Cabrera mountain range Mojacar Pueblo still retains the charm and tranquility of times gone by. Its whitewashed houses spill down the steep hill which it encirles. Many of the streets are too narrow to let cars pass, and provide visitors with a distinctly peaceful environment in which to explore the many boutiques and bars. The views from Mojacar Pueblo are absolutely breathtaking.
